(08-10-2012 11:43 AM)boomer01 Wrote: Hello everyone. I am new on this site. I was injured at work back in june 2011, I damaged my upper spine & brain injury that effects my balance and memory. Severe pain walk with a walker/cane. I am on my 3rd attorney and nmow this one wont give me my imparement rating. Whats up with that? is it some sort of trade secret or something? How the heck do you find an attorney that goes the extra mile?Where are you from? I live in Kansas and was injured on the job in july 2005. I literally lived on $137 a month moving from relatives to friends until social security came through with a disability. It has been 7 years and a few days since I filed a work comp case. I was forewarned it would take years to settle. The Law Judge awarded me $125,000 however the employers insurance company appealled her decision so i'm waiting another 30 days for their decision. I still do not have a -rating-. It is in your best interest you do not have one. Best advice I can give is to be patient and do not keep switching attorneys. The process is years long anyway. |

RE: question..
and you are NOT in any way shape or form going to get rich on workmans comp!you will be lucky when its all said and done to be still married and in the same house
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

RE: question..
Damn and I was just starting to well you know.......
Boomer a settlement is to replace lost wages in the future.ie if you get a 7% disabilty for your cervical (which is a fairly normal % for cervical injuries) you may und up with less that 10 thousand dollars after all is said and done. After my first fusion a 2 leval in my neck I was offered 3,000 dollars.but I had a really good lawyer. He and his staff was worth every penny ;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....
