broken toes
I want/need advice on whether or not to get a lawyer. Long story made short-I broke four toes at work on Feb 29th. After ten weeks of "care" I begged the dr. to go back to work out of fear of losing my job, and sick of the "treatment" I got from the dr. Each appt. was just to schedule another appt, no care, no treatment, not even looking at my foot. Now the second toe is deformed, won't lay flat, and is stuck in an arched position. The Dr is saying he wont release me P&S until it is "healed" and that this could take months...I feel that not only did the dr.s provided zero care during my 10 weeks of not working, but they are delaying P&S to delay or avoid paying me a permanent disability settlement. What should I do?

RE: broken toes
talk to your WC worker tell her/him what you believe about your Dr.ask for a different Dr

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

RE: broken toes
change doctors.

it sounds like your claim might be controlled by califnoria comp rules.
if so,you can select any doctor within the MPN for treatment.

more on california comp

if not you'll have to give us your state in order for us know what rules are used on your claim.
