RE: Tips and tricks to do normal things while in pain..
why bother? its a time to reflect on what is important in our lives and what isnt....by that I mean what is important to me and my family not to socity.....Kathy is a clean freak her house shines even when she is in pain....when I am in pain I dont give a rats fanny if my floor needs mopping it will wait till Bill gets around to it....and the laundry can and will pile up some weeks....some days Bill helps me in and out of the shower those days are bad and the house is the last thing I am thinking about...fight thru the pain.....your a big dude Lucky...I just try to breathe thru it and try not to scream on the bad days....but then I refused the patches to much drug for me......

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

The Patch's are powerful; It took a month to get past the euphoria effect it has on the brain.

The Fentanyl patch is my best pain relief along with Hydrocodone for break through pain. I said oxycodone but that was wrong; Oxycodone does not like me at all.

Really, I am not a big man. LOL Big Grin I am 6'2" and weigh 195lbs. Now, at one time I was a extreme heavyweight....... Losing the weight did help my situation "some".

I realize some are worse off than me. I just feel many get depressed and beat themselves down; Money issues; Pain etc. and this I understand; Then I think of a 3rd world country where there best is 10x worse than our current situations. Generally, We in the USA will come out and get back on track but these 3rd world countries will never have any quality of Life.

We need reform in this Country: One of the biggest is Medical Reform. NO ONE should ever have to do without there meds especially our Senior Citizens.

mmmmmmmmm Democrat....just what we need the whole United States to run their health care system just like WC does...Deny deny deny till we are dead or so disabled we cant take care of ourself...then we become another tick on the mother dog....I prefer to have been taken care of right in the first place and pay my own way....I dont need or want a nanny goverment...I am a American my forfathers fought and died to break away from europe and that nanny govermentover 200 years ago I see no need to go backwards...I will leave that for those who dont have the backbone or balls to stand on their own and take care of their own....they dont call em YELLOW dogs for nothing

Express yourself Jayne; Smile It is a Free Country.

I am a proud Democrat. There is absolutely no reason a Senior Citizen should have to choose between Meds or a meal. No one such ever be denied Insurance over a pre existing condition. The cost of Medical is ridiculous.

Now, I do want the entitlement "program" changed. I firmly disagree with our President here.

Social Security has to be changed; Raise the age or increase the FICA tax or both.

Obama Care; Romney Care; Very Similar you have to agree. There is some good in both but bad also.

For the most part, I am against Big Gov. control, it is about right and wrong and the great thing is we do not have to agree.

The price of Oil needs to be regulated; we need to be much greener like using our God Given resources like Natural Gas. Just a few examples....

Jayne I am not really a clean freak, I just tell my kids if you want to eat your gonna help clean this house. Really my house may go a couple of weeks without being vacumed or dusted due to the bad days.

I admit my house standards have changed a ton since I got injured. I did and still do enjoy a clean house. I love the way it smells and looks. I wish I could maintain it up to my previous standards but I know it's not reality.

I will be heading to CVS to look up this man back hair razor!! LOL

I live in CA, it's not always sunny... And the Workers Comp sucks! Smile

I think we all change once injured perm, since I'm a guy it is mainly out side chores.. It drives me nuts when the grass gets to long, drives me really crazy when I see paper in the yard. Roles change and its about helping one another to get it done.. I'm home with dom durring the day and i try to keep house clean. But there are days all I can do is take care of dom and when i need pain relief my oldest helps out so I can lay down.. We all push our self to our own limits but I'll be dam if i will dope my self up because I need to do a marathon..

Let me know how that mens back shaver helper works out.....lol.

RE: Tips and tricks to do normal things while in pain..
Since I was injured, I found it hard to mow the grass and start the weed eater.

My solution was to buy a self propelled mower and a weed eat that I start with a battery powered drill. That way the lawn mower does the work of moving forward by itself and I do not have to hold the weed eater while pulling the cord.

8-05, Micro laminectomy/disectomy. 10-05 lumbar fusion L5-S1. 2-07 exploritory surgery. 12-07 medical implant, Spinal Cord Stimulator. now receiving SSDI. Jesus died for our sins. Soilders died for our freedom.

AQA my self propelled mower is a godsend and i highly recommend it to anyone with any kind of problems, the weedeater is a bitch to pull start. Anyone looking for a new mower should get Toro, guaranteed start on first pull for 5 years, mine still does at 6 1/2 years, first one i had did for 10! There is also a turn key switch for weeders, never tried but ill get the drill start, gotta put my dewalt to use somehow now.

I have a rechargable battery operated weed eater, it is lite weight and starts by pushing a button.

I like this weed eater because the battery last a long time.
