2) Attempt to pick up refills five days in advace. If they are not ready on the fourth day. Ask the pharmacy why. Then call the IC.. If the adjuster is not responsive. Call his/her supervisor.

3) In my case, Med. authorization comes from an outside source. The IC. lets them know if the meds. are approved and they are the ones that the pharmacy calls for approval. So, if I have an issue, I don't know if it is due to the IC, phramacy or outside source. That is why I have prescriptions for 90 days. Once the first one is approved. The approvale of the other two is automatic.

Thank you for you information.
I will talk to my doctor about this. I thought with a CII med it was one refill per prescription. The pharmacy send to Express Script(insurance) and they send to WC. WC either approves or sends to revue(5 to 30 days). So I wind up running out. I never know when it goes in for revue because the Adjuster(WC) will not answer her phone. I found out this time from the insurance company(express script). I have decided not to stress and just keep praying about it and God will see me through this crazy stuff. Thank God for His son Jesus.

My Pain Management Doctor will not post date any sch 2 narcotics; I go every 29-30 days to PM Clinic to pick up my drugs. I wish he would; I ask and he said no; money making scheme IMO. My Daddy goes to a different PM Doctor and he has to go monthly also for his sch 2 drugs. I have been on my sch 2 "cocktail" for 6+ years also.....

Also by Law, The Pharmacy will not fill a sch 2 Narcotic 5 day in advance; it will be flagged. I have found that on day 29 they will fill.

Your drugs are sch 2 Narcotics so everything tightens up big time.
Iactually took this write up with me and showed where by law a Doctor can post date Sch 2 Narcotics but in greed most PM Doctors do not. Instead I go in monthly, They check my blood pressure and give me my prescriptions; maybe 2 minutes. Charge is $68 dollars. WE NEED MEDICAL REFORM in this country. This is why Insurance has sky rocketed because of schemes like this but no one does anything at the Federal or State Level.

RE: prescriptions
AQA is right, have the dr write the scripts for 90 days... I dont have wc paying for my meds since they put me at mmi over a year ago... My primary does my refills now and writes them for 60 days, 1 is for now and the other is for the 60th day.. My private ins wont permit the refill until the 30th day..

Hopefully, Your Doctor will do this. In Louisiana, it will not happen. I have to pick up my prescription for sch 2 Narcotics on a monthly basis/

Good Luck

RE: prescriptions
everything is not the same from state to state. I was meary pointing out things that I had done and making suggestions.

I can see some if not most IC's not wanting to have meds. refilled a minute ahead of time. I can also see some state if not federal laws regulating some meds.

8-05, Micro laminectomy/disectomy. 10-05 lumbar fusion L5-S1. 2-07 exploritory surgery. 12-07 medical implant, Spinal Cord Stimulator. now receiving SSDI. Jesus died for our sins. Soilders died for our freedom.

RE: prescriptions
I recently had issues with getting one of my meds refilled. Here in CA, according to the pharmacy, there was a new policy instated for 2012 that required an approval from the IC even on long term refills.

My doc explained to me today that there is a heavy crack down right now on pain management clinics and Docs that prescribe a lot of pain killers so that may be a reason for the need to come in monthly to pick up your med slips.

I live in CA, it's not always sunny... And the Workers Comp sucks! Smile
