are psychological reviews required for surgery

I had a previous surgery 2-5 lower back and it was successful. I went back to work and fell having 2 chips brake of my spine and injured 4&5 lower back and 1,2&3 mid back. I was told I had to see a psychologist from workman's comp. I refused as I have strong religious reasons that teach us not to turn our minds over to any man. Now workman's comp is stating that they possibly do not have to cover me as I refused their doctor. He is not a surgeon can they do this? They are also stating that they believe the injury was due to my previous injury,even though it was totally fixed and this is a different injury. Help I worked for almost 28 years and never had an issue before what can I do?

some surgeons use them; have you discussed it with yours?

if benefits are denied, you can have treatment covered by your health provider or..
you can take the dispute to your states work comp court.

either party can get a medical opinion at their own expense at any time.
either party can object to the actions of the other and have the comp court decide.

if you have a union or work under a labor contract you may have access to legal counsel for advice or representation.
