Is there anyone here who can't feel just fingertips?
This is probably a stupid question but I'm wondering if there's anyone here who can't feel just their fingertips. I had open rotator cuff surgery last May, my shoulder froze in November although I was using the hec out of it and every since then I haven't been able to feel the index and middle finger tips on that hand. Actually I can feel them but they are VERY numb.
Doc says it's my neck but it coincided with the frozen shoulder so I'm just curious. |

Monster I have numbness in the fingers, not entire fingers, index, sometimes all fingers, sometimes including the pinky.
Doctors tell me it is from the cervical spine, for me that makes sense as I had an ACDF of C5-6 last year. |

Mine is just the last joint of my fingers. It doesn't hurt but it's driving me nuts and I'm dropping lots of things. It's been constant since the shoulder froze, always the same never worse or better. Just annoying I guess lol

I have alot of tingling and numbness in the fingers of the left hand all of it from the cervical area I believe. I hate the numbness of the tip of my fingers tho

RE: Is there anyone here who can't feel just fingertips?
Monster,
I started out with that problem in my left hand, although it was with the little finger and ring finger... just the tips from the last joint. However, it has now spread and encompasses both fingers in their entirety, as well as half of my palm, into my wrist and up my arm. DX: ulnar entrapment/deviation I would say that is your problem, however, it is in the wrong fingers. I will ask my neuro about it next Tuesday when I see him. Hopefully he will answer. Although he may be mad at me and not want too. He's wanting to do a permanent SCS and fusion on me, but the SCS ain't gonna happen and since I haven't stopped smoking, he won't do the fusion. So his next surgery would be the ulnar entrapment. Smaller, faster and cheaper to do. I guess I will find out if he is one of those Dr's that likes to do more expensive, exspansive surgeries over the smaller ones. If he is, you can bet that I will drop him like a hot potato once I find a new neurosurgeon. I believe if there are several areas that need help, the surgeon should work with the patient on what order they should be treated or ask if there is even a preference in what order the patient would like to have them treated Angel ^j^ I've always been crazy, but it keeps me from going insane. ************ Happiness comes through doors you didn't even know you left open |

My index finger and ring finger tingle and go numb, I was told it was from my neck causeing it. I think i was told it was the c7 disc causeing it.

Monstter, I can relate..... In my mva it tore my rotor cuf and have permament nerve damage.. Like you my figer tips were numb on the injured arm.. I couldnt feel like I was even gripping anything and about a year later I regained the feeling in all except for the inside of thumb and index finger I was awarded 3% for the nerve damage... They also said it may be a pinched nerve in the neck, but an mri showed nothing that would cause it.
