I want to go back to work!
Date of injury:09/09
Surgery date: 02/10
Released date: 04/10
Agency: ice
Current owcp claim is medical open.

Who do I contact and how, letting them know I want to return to federal employment?

Thanks,
Matt

RE: I want to go back to work!
when your temporary total disability has ended you need to contact your agency about returning to work.
they will need your medical information documenting your work restrictions.
depending on the degree of your recovery the agency may return you to your position at the time of the injury;offer employment in another position at the same salary;or another position at a different salary.

read chapter 8 of the DEFC publication CA-810

RE: I want to go back to work!
Thanks for the information.
I've already tried to appeal with a written request through my senator's office to the agency hr dept. and they said no.
- how long of a time frame do I have?
- can I take another job, (for example, a state agency) while on medical owcp?
- if I lost my job with the state agency would I get paid compensation reinstated?

I'm so lost.

RE: I want to go back to work!
i'm not an expert in federal workers comp.
if they won't take you back or place you any place else you don't return to disability status.
yes you can take other jobs as long as they are within your work restrictions.
you are entitled to permanent impairment benefits whether you return to work or not.

the best I can recommend is you get an atty that specializes in federal workers comp.
