Hello
New to the site. Thought I share my story from PA. I was hurt badly on the job with 4 witnesses. I was hurt badly enough that it required surgery two days after the injury. Company put me on short-term disability for 13 weeks with full pay. Medical was covered by comp. During said 13 weeks company pressured me to come back to work even though their doctor said impossible. Full recovery is 12-18 months without complications. As my luck would have it, I do have complications. Company put me on full comp (medical and pay). I figured as long as I am following their doctor what could go wrong? Well, I was finally cleared to go back to work on light duty and that same day was laid off. I was the only person to be laid off. Worked 16 years at this company. Thank god I got a lawyer a week before all this took place. When company let me go they said my monetary payments will stop but medical would continue. Boy where they wrong. When I first spoke to my lawyer he asked me if I had a Notice of Compensation Payable letter from the state of PA. He called this the Golden Ticket. Of course I have this. I have been on comp for close to a year now. I have learned a lot during this time. If anyone in PA needs advice do not hesitate to contact. Thanks for reading.

RE: Hello
welcome to the board...we are lucky enough to have a Pa lawyer on board here and he has been a God sent to us....stick around more help to injured workers is always welcome. Also check out the Off topics side its where we let our hair down a bit and have fun.

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile
