how long for wc approval for vertebroplasty been waiting one week

I have a compression fracture at T-7 work related from 11/18/11. have had to change doctors once. now # 2 dr, wants me to have a vertebroplasty and I have not heard from anyone about date scheduled. Have called dr 5 times. Who and when do I contact to say hey remember me??

Oh they remember but its Christmas time,alot going on both in the Drs offices and at the ICs office.Have your Drs office call they may have better luck.

probably contact the carrier or adjuster or employer or your atty depending on the circumstances.

Just a guess here, but I wouldn't be expecting anything until around mid-January. Unless the situation is life-threatening, nobody is going to be in a huge hurry to set the appointment.

I know it's frustrating, but try to relax and enjoy your holidays. Things will start to move again once the dust settles.

What state are you in and what are there rules on approvals and Utilization Review. I had my hernia repair authorized on the same day it was submitted.

While you're correct that this would likely depend upon the laws in the OP's State, I'm getting the impression that the switch to Dr. #2 and the recommendation for the procedure was fairly recent (at least after 11/18/11). This leads me to conclude that the recommendation is still inside a basic 30 day period.

Still, as this poster says - there may be different rules, depending on your State. Some States will have a 14 day response period requirement, and others will require a UR (utilization review), which can take up to 90 days in many cases.

It might help to know what State you're in.
