I received my AME Report along with a check for Permanent Disability
This past Saturday I received the AME report along with a check paying me out permanent disability benefits for months March 09' to June 09'. The claims examiner letter stated that PD have now been paid in full. The AME reported stated that I was permanently disabled with a 10% whole body impairment and that further medical treatment for my wrist is needed. The Dr. also stated that he does not believe I would be capable of returning to my usual and customary duties. I found this discouraging since all I do is clerical work. My question is, the check I received paying me for PD benefits from 2009 my final payment? Am, I entitled to a settlement or award with possible future medical treatment? I have an attorney but I haven't been able to reach them all week
I'm so worried and stressed, I just want it to be over. P.S. I'm from California and this case has been open since Aug. 2007.

no settlement that was that little ol check you got....wasnt it sweet? as far as medical when you need it ask for it and you might get it
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

RE: I received my AME Report along with a check for Permanent Disability
thanks for the heads up. It looks like I have to have another surgery to remove a cyst that grew apparently caused by the initial surgery. So I'm at least happy that I can get that taken care of. Unfortunately I now have to turn down 2 positions with the company where I was initially injured, due what was stated by the Dr. on the AME report.

I see. it's still an entitlement program. you just pick which ones you like and which you don't.
stone age morality & survival of the fittest: "if you can't/won't work as hard as me you don't deserve to be here. please die off and quit spoiling my world." I didn't know your last name was scrooge. Merry Christmas, Jayne. |
