Injured in WI
Lifting a heavy load (3 HP elec motor) while twisting I suffered an abdominal strain. A few days later there was a protrusion in my navel area. I reported it when I saw the protrusion. My employer said I was required to leave Immediately and go to Sensia Healthcare. I asked to see MY doc about it and was told had to see theirs first. The doc at Sensia said I had an abdominal strain which was work related and an umbilical hernia that was not work related. WTF?

I then saw my doc who agreed with the diagnosis, send it was work related and referred me to a surgeon.

I saw the surgeon yesterday and he also agreed that it was work related and scheduled me for surgery.

1 hr after the appt. I got an email from the WC insurance stating that my claim was denied because the doc at Sensia said it wasn't work related and they will not cover the surgery. I do have health insurance, but I can't afford to go without pay during recovery.

My work gave me the forms for temp-disability and the first thing they ask is if it is a work injury as they will not cover it if it is.

I spoke to two lawyers and they won't take the case since there is no permanent disability to cash in on.

What do I do????
