the check...
1st off...Thanks to all u guys for helping me out in the last few months. My attorney finally got my company to settle. It was way more $$ than I ever expected to get. I am very happy.
I just got 1 more question...Today is the 29th day from when I signed the papers, the witness signed, my attorney signed, and the IC signed. I assume everything is done. My atty said that if the check doesn't come in 30 days that I will get some 10% interest. So my questions are:
1- is the 10% I get per day it is late, per week, or per month?
2- If I didn't receive the check, I assume my lawyer didn't get paid either so should I assume he will contact me or should I call him?
3-Lastly, Is it 30 days from when we signed the papers or 30 days from when they hand it off at the WC appeal board?
BTW, just to remind u guys, I am in Hesperia, California
Thanks.

RE: the check...
10% per annum.
don't call; time has not started yet.
neither. interest begins the day the comp court (WCAB) /judge issues the written award approving the Compromise & Release
unless the settlement contains wording that waives/delays the interest payment.

P.S. I assume since your atty mentioned a 30 day time limit that there is wording in the settlement that delays the interest start date for 30 days.
