RE: surgery tuesday
Fun - we'll all be thinking of you. i had a two level lumbar about 2 years ago. You'll do fine. In the hospital you'll be on so many meds, you won't be doing much. When you get home make sure you have a grabber, toilet raiser, wand to help you wipe (yes, you WILL need it), walker, and lots of reading material and tv remote, movies etc...to keep you occupied.

Everyone is different though. I was a mess after my first fusion which was one level and my father in law just had a one level fusion from falling off a roof and he is 75 and one week later he is walking around with no walker, and riding in the car and on nothing but tylenol. I hope you are like him and do great!

Good luck@!!

RE: surgery tuesday
thanks for the replies. that was my first surgery ever. i didnt remember anything after they started up the iv. just woke up in recovery and put in icu (i have a sleeping disorder) . the time in the hospital is all very hazey but a helpful staff and amazing girlfriend got me through it all very easily. im 15 days removed from surgery and i feel pretty good. im keeping a positive attitude the best i can. The first week i had alot of leg/foot pain and my hips were really numb. that has mostly subsided at this point. most of the pain now is all surgical. I really hope that after all the PT and my hard work I can go back to living a somewhat normal life. It's been too long.
