FMLA Question

Does anyone know if the allowed time is rolling calender or if time starts again on the first of the year?

My supervisor just lied to me whether she meant to or not. She said the hours would start over in January. I go to the neurologist tomorrow and I don't even know if or when I will need surgery. I have already been out four weeks? I think. WC just put me out another 7 days.
