Settlement Question
State is PA.

I had my mandatory settlement conference and we settled on a number that we both agreed with. It wasn't what I wanted, and Im sure its more than they wanted to pay, but over all, Im happy with the result and they are leaving my medical open.

I have a couple of questions and my attorney is on vacation so I have no one to ask...

1. Can they change their minds once we settled on a number? We did not have the C&R (?) yet, but I want to know if they can say..."eh...nevermind...we changed our minds"?

2. How long before we should have a C&R? We reached this agreement about 2 weeks ago and I still do not have a date for the C&R.

3. Will I still get checks until this is completed? Or since we reached a number will they stop them?

Thanks for any info you can give me..I hope to call my lawyer on Monday but I can't reach him now..

Thanks again..

Dina

RE: Settlement Question
yes it can happen that one side or the other wants to add or change something that the other won't agree to and the deal falls through.

no set time-see above.

usually an statement on payments is included in the settlement or language that will allow the carrier credit for payments made after a fixed amount is agreed upon.
