My attorney who is handling both just says his hands are tied. Thought someone here who went through this may have a suggestion. I guess patience is all you can have; though I am getting evicted and am losing my car to the bank by months end. It is frustrating that the money is there via the settlement and/or SSD without any justifiable reason why this cannot be settled by now.

It seems from your reactions to posts here that you're looking for somebody who SPECIFICALLY has experienced the exact same thing you are currently experiencing. Good luck with that.

Listen to your attorney. His hands ARE tied. It is in the "system" now, and there is nothing more for him to do than to hold your hand and wait. The "system" is a mindless machine, period.

I empathize with your economic woes. You're not alone. That doesn't make it less devastating to you but right now, you need to focus on what's more important - your health and your sanity.

I've always told others, and lived by this credo - "you can always get more STUFF". It takes time, but you can do it.

Lashing out at posters who don't play chess the way you do (so to speak) isn't helping your cause, and certainly won't be encouraging any more volunteers to jump on your ship and help you bale water.

DISCLAIMER: I am not an attorney. While drawing from my professional training and experience in law enforcement and as a former Paralegal, no comments offered should be considered as legal advice.

RE: New here. Does someone know?
no one is exactly like you no one has exactly your injury or your lawyer or your job....if I had been the main bread winner we would have lost everything.....many here have.... it is the fakers who have made it hard on the rest of us....next time you hear someone laugh about how they beat the system tell them how their BS cost you and many others their home, car and sometimes their marriage and family....The stress of this mess has cost many a marriage

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

LeglEgl, have you read any posts here? I have read dozens of posts where ones have gone through exactly what the poster asked and got several helpful suggestions.
Also, I showed no disrespect to 1171. The chess analogy was just a simple way of helping ones understand where I was coming from. 1171 seemed to get where I was coming from. I really cannot see how you conclude that was lashing out, but I guess I needed a negative spin on an already negative situation. Thanks.
