RE: How easy is it to spot private detectives?
Funny story about restrictions. Due to a 27lb weight gain since the injury,my doctors prescribed for me to jog but never go over 4-5miles per hours because going over 5mph might herniate my disk. So I assume my restrictions is "not to go over 5 miles per hour". If they did take pictures of me, how would they prove that I am going over 5 mphs??? It seems like taking pictures is pretty useless unless I was claiming to unable to walk and then they see we jogging.

Don't worry about someone watching. The reality is unless they catch you doing something you've testified you cannot do (either by deposition, telling the doctor, etc) it really doesn't matter. |

Thanks, Wink. It's difficult to argue a point with somebody who invents facts and theories in their head.
But, as they say "Expect the unexpected." Of course, the way I see it, if I could expect the unexpected, then wouldn't the unexpected actually be expected ? DISCLAIMER: I am not an attorney. In my case, the PI was sitting on private property and it is posted at my condominium complex as being such. The PI has no right to be there. I know someone that a PI was following. They called the police and the PI was told not to follow that person. The PI was not arrested. The only thing I agree with is that you are fair game to be photographed once you leave your house. |

RE: How easy is it to spot private detectives?
I've done some digging LeglEgl and found that Courts have indeed upheld stalking charges against private investigators. There were two recent cases in NH and CO. In the CO case, a GPS device was used.
I looked up my State's Law: MGL 265 section 43 and it basically says that emotional distress had to be established in the complaint of stalking. It doesn't exempt PIs. By the way, what type of law enforcement positions did you perform? Why do you participate in this forum if you have such a contempt for injured workers? |
