how long after mmi will impairment rating usually happen?

Hello All!

Im new here, but have been reading your posts for months. My husband was electrocuted at work 4 years ago, and severly injured his lower back. He had a spinal fusion 12/2010 and 5 months later was found to be at mmi. He lives in constant pain, and without pain medicines. He is on UE right now because his old employer didnt want to hire him back. We are in the middle of a huge third party lawsuit as well..So my questions to anyone of you who may know are:

Since he's reached MMI, will an impairment rating be made soon? lawyers mentioned it a while ago but we havent heard back about it

*he already had an IME exam

Lawyer called this morning and mentioned that the case was close to be over *ill believe it when i see it* and also asked my husband how much he owed in back child support which he doesnt but I guess they are working on the financial end of things? hoping and praying for an end soon!

you should realize we need to know your state to give accurate information.
in general, your husband can obtain an impairment whenever he wishes.
either party, at the own expense, can obtain medical evidence at any time.

you also didn't mention whether the lawyer you quoted was referring to the comp case or the civil case.
the rating could have occurred after the IME exam.

Sorry, Im refering to the WC part of our case. We have the same atty for both WC and third party.Would we know if a rating was given during the IME exam?

the financial part can last from hours to years...depending on the parties involved...if a 3rd party is involved its a bit more tricky as WC will have to be payed back from the 3rd party suit I do hope you have one lawyer handling the whole thing...good luck and dont be a stranger you will one day help someone else...how did Irene treat you?

if you got a copy of the IME report it should be stated there whether your husband was rated and what the rating was.
