Grasshopper chewing holes in Screen Porch
I noticed last year I had "holes" in my new screen in porch. The company replaced the screen (under warranty) and chalked it up as bad screen.
Well, I have 2 holes again. I notice flying grasshoppers on my screen porch. These Bast*ards chew holes in the screen. I caught one in the freaking act. I am spreading granulated sevins around the perimeter of my porch but these grasshoppers fly Some are katydid's and are seasonal but screen porch destructive. Any suggestions on this problem? It really sucks 2011 Lexus Convertible |

freerange chickens......alot of our neighbors are having problems with grasshoppers...I am not my chickens love em my feedbills are less because of them and the egg yokes are a beautiful shade of orange....now once before when I offered you a basset hound when your dog died you didnt want to fence a dog in....are you willing to fence in your property to keep chickens? not only will they keep the bugs down but will supply you with fresh eggs daily but fried chicken now and then and an endless supply of antics to watch.....

I was raised on a small farm. We had Approx 30-50 chickens, Hogs, Guinea's, cows etc. I am not willing to fence in my property for chickens; eggs are cheap in a store; chicken breast are 2 dollars a pound etc. LOL I have probably "processed" more yard chickens than most on this forum. I could pick up 2 chickens at a time and ring there necks twirling both arms. Then the feather picking, removing pin feathers etc.I HATED IT. You should have seen my wife's face the 1st time I introduced that city girl to a chicken killing. She got sick. LOL I want ZERO to do with this now. Thanks for the advice but no chickens and no dog. I have owned my last inside dog. Dogs become like your children; Hard to let go...... Done this 2x and never again. 2011 Lexus Convertible |

RE: Grasshopper chewing holes in Screen Porch
We have the grasshopper problems in our part of the country, they have eaten many of my tomato plants.
I have a friend in town who sprays the insect spray Seven on his deck and says it works. Can't find it in my local store or I would use it in my garden. |

This is what I use in a Granulated formula. The spray dries white. If I done my homework today, Sevin's is the answer; The problem is I live in a open 2 acre area. These dang flying grasshoppers are seasonal and they are pissed right now. LOL 2011 Lexus Convertible |

Eggs are eggs to me. I was raised up eating mostly brown eggs. Some think brown eggs are stronger tasting than a white egg.... Absolutely not true. A egg like the chicken taste according to what it eats. Now, About southern cooking and nights under Louisiana Stars by Bayou Loutre Creek; This I know and know well. I am as country as country gets with my raising and where I live. I know Country loving..... and I am da*n good at it. LOL ![]() Never left a lady dissatisfied...... HAHAHAHA (But it is true.......)
