Lost , Need Help
I will try to make this as short as possible . Not sure what to do. Will start at the Begining. Got hurt at work in Oct.2010. Was told there was nothing she could do as she doesnt have workers comp.(Has been verfied by the state she didnt have it from 2004-2011).Was told if i wanted to keep my job I was to say nothing to no one. I kept my mouth shut , I needed my job. On Feb.13,2011 , I got in a dispute with my employer . She later came back to my work , and she said " File for unemplyment , as your services are no longer needed." I filed for my UC . (Weeks prior I was told by her she was going to have to start laying people off.)The employer Had untill March 10 ,2011 to file against the claim. Heard nothing more from either party. I filed my bi-weekly clams as instructed. I recieved a Letter dated May 26,2011 from UC. The letter stated "you may have quit work without good cause" . I contacted them as soon as i recieved this and aswered all there questions. I was told they recieved a late notice from my employer After the March 10 Deadline. I started doing a lilttle research and found out the Employer had secured Workers comp. Ins. on March 14 , 2011 . In the meantime , someone refered me to a fund the state has for people who get hurt and the employeer dosnt have workers comp.ins. I guess this pissed my employer off big time. Now the state Knows she was operating without workers comp Ins.I recieved a call From the UC office on 7-13-2011. I might add , the UC worker was not nice at all to me this time. I asked the UC worker about the Deadline and she stated , it dosnt matter about the date , an employeer can notifey them at anytime to challenge the employee for UC Benifits., I feel at my wits end and not sure what to do..I left out alot of stuff to keep this short .But here is an Example. I recieved many Threats From my Employers Family memebers Because of all this......I have contacted several Attorneys with zero result. I have a Hearing with a workers Comp Judge Aug.5th. What should I do?

RE: Lost , Need Help
without knowing your state it's difficult to give precise information since each state has it's own comp laws.
http://www.workerscompensation.com/forum...?tid=10146

you need to get information together for the comp court about your injury and employment.
you need pay stubs, any letters from employer, receipts for any treatment you paid for.
you will also need names and dates of places where you got treatment.
dates and names of when you spoke to your employer, what was said and who said it.
it all should be in writing so you don't forget and it all makes sense.

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

RE: Lost , Need Help
If you have a legitimate injury with resulting disability, I am not sure why a lawyer will not take your case. I know many quality workers' compensation lawyers throughout PA, but I would need a bit more information of a somewhat private nature to determine who would be best to help you. I am sending you a PM with my direct contact information. Feel free to call or e-mail me if you wish to pursue this matter further.
