Medicare
Hi all,
I become medicare eligible for Part A (hospital) and Part B (medical) in a couple of months, but since Part B is optional and must be paid for, I didn't think I would need it since I have group retirement insurance from my employer until age 65. (i'm 56) I pay a pretty good amount of that premium over the employer cap.

Well, to my surprise, I found out I have to take Part B or I will lose my group coverage. So, I will have to pay the Part B and continue paying Private Insurance as well.

The biggest surprise is that Medicare becomes the primary payor. I would have bet money that Anthem would remain the primary payor. LOL!

Don't have an option 'cause if I drop group coverage my husband isn't covered. He's self employed.

Ok Ok, I know this is redundant and boring to most of you experts, but I did find this wonderful booklet explaining how Medicare works with other Insurance, Including Workers Comp, and Who Pays First! So of course I thought of all you and wanted to share. Tongue

Hope you all are doing well.
