Settlement Check (edited by Admin) - Virginia
I pray someone will answer this question for me, does settlements checks come by US mail, Fedx or UPS?
I know in Va. the IC has 44 days to deliver, but was told possibly 10 days. About to be evicted - need some help. WC signed off on the settlement on June 2nd. Thanks for any reply |

RE: Sedgwick CMS - Virginia
Did you have a lawyer? If so I think it normally comes to him, he deposits the check in his account and then wait around a week to 10 days for it to clear before he writes you a check for your part

I have read up here about some getting their portion in ten days and some saying they had to wait the entire grace period. Just wondering what method they would use. Thanks for replying. |

RE: Sedgwick CMS - Virginia
I don't know how they will ship but I would bet they will go to your lawyer.

RE: Settlement Check (edited by Admin) - Virginia
have a question , back on 5-24-11 i got a call from my attorney saying that the other side wants to settle ( day before they had a depo that they prolonged for 6 months) so after talking to my attorney i settled , that was on 5-24-11 my attorney told me that it takes up to 30 days for my check and that the other side would send over paper work for me to sign so after 2 weeks of waiting for the paper work that never came i called my attorney and told them that i never received the paper work - week later i received my paper work, faxed it over the same day 2 days later my attorney send it back to the defense , now 0n 6-24-11 this coming friday ca workers comp office shows nothing has been received !!!!! so i sent an e-mail to my attorney and they said the other side is working on it and that they will walk it into the court to have it stamped and them after that it takes 30days to cut my check ..... well after getting off the phone with the court they advised me that they show nothing in the system and that it might be there but not input yet but she told me that it takes at least 90 days or longer that i will get anything , im so made cuz i have heard so many stories and i don't know which one to believe ???? dose anyone know the process .....
