RE: lumpsum settlements
it will depend if your Doc is able to bring you back with no disabilty then you will get no more funds only if you have a permanant injury do you get a settlement...there is no money for pain and suffering......I believe Bad Boy is from your area and will be able to answer you better.......but no one gets rich from workers comp........

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

RE: lumpsum settlements
If they are talking settlement at some time in the Future, by all means, my opinion only keep your Attorney! Lord knows you will need them at that time to insure you get what's rightfully yours. W/C will lowball and B.S. you if they find you don't have Counsel, so better safe than sorry! And one other thing, don't even consider a settlement until they have done everything they can for you Medically. Remember Health First, Money second. It doesn't always feel that way, I know, but trust me, don't take Promises on Health Care from w/c and settle too soon. If they leave Medical Open and settle wages with you, you can bet they will then be looking for a loophole to get you off of Medical. and given enough time they will find one! That's why your Attorney is more important than you think, maybe not at the moment, but later you will be Thankful you kept them! Best of Luck!!Wink

Failed Back Surgery, Chronic Pain, Totally Disabled.

Knowledge is Power, Especially in the World of w/c. Learn as Much as You can about Your States w/c Laws, and don't Fight Battles alone, They Use Attorney's, and so Should You!!
