Period before getting paid??
I was injured Sunday April 17, My employer is requiring me to use all my personal leave time for the first 7 days off before workmans comp will start paying me. They also told me they will not back pay me unless I am out of work for more than 15 days. Is this legal? It doesnt seem to me that I can hurt myself doing required work for the company and them make me use my only few personal days to cover the time and not pay me while I am off until after 7 days.

Depends on your state, which is why we ask that you post it. It is called the "waiting period". |

The waiting period is 7 days. If you are off work more than 14 days, then the first 7 days will be paid retroactively.
You must be taken off work by the authorized doctor. |
