Given light duty but employer has none
I live in KY. I injured my back and arm from a fall off of a ladder. I went to the dr. who told me to take the rest of the day off but to return to work on the next scheduled day with restrictions until I am seen again in a week. This would be Monday since I was seen on Friday. I made my employer aware of the situation snd he told me that they didn't have light duty type work for me to do; I work in the construction trade. After I asked my employer about my wages, the next day. I believe, I was told to report to one of the boss' home office to do "Light Duty Work", this after they stated they had none and I lost 3 days of pay. My question is this, if they have no light duty for me to do and I have no choice but to not go to work, isn't someone responsible for my missing wages?

Thanks

RE: Given light duty but employer has none
Under Kentucky WC law, no payment is due for the first 7 days of disability unless the disability lasts longer than 14 days, then the first 7 days will be paid retroactively. So, no, unfortunately, they are not responsible for 3 days of lost pay.
