Sad Death benefits
My husband recieved an injury to his lungs while working and was started on workman's comp benefits after going to court. The judge ruled that it was considered an accident and that workmans comp will pay wages and medical. My husband has been recieveing those benefits for almost four years now. My husband is now dying of the same lung problems and is on hospice and probably has less than 6 months. My question is does workman's comp have to pay death benefits or funeral expenses. We live in Nebraska. Thanks for your helpSad

RE: Death benefits
The statute says that if the injury causes death the widow/widower is paid death benefits for his or her life or until remarriage and burial expense up to $6,000.
