it seems from this thread that most people take some kind of booster with the patches . the reason my doctor put me on the patch was to take me off the percoset .
Some people are taking lortab ,how does this effect you?
Also I am only taking 25mg how addictive is fentlyl patch.

Lortab works well as a break through narcotic for me. Acrually better than percodan. 10 mg of Lortab worked for me were 10 mg of percodan gace me exterme sweats and worked no better.


All sch 2 narcotics and sch 3 are addictive. I have been a narc head since 2003 and do not care because I HURT.

well I just started taking my firsy patch today and waiting to feel effect

I am on Loratab 10 , Skelaxin 800, Lidoderm patch and will be restarting Lyrica.

I find I can not go longer than 5 hours without taking the Loratab as the pain gets to high.

I am 4 weeks out from having an ACDF.

My cocktail mixture is Fentanyl patch(25) I change every 48 hours; will not last 3 days for me.
, Lortab 10/500 5x a day
Lyrica 150 3x a day
Celebrex 200 1x a day
Ambien 10 1x at bedtime.

I have been on this cocktail since Jan. 2006. The Lyrica and Lortab has increased over the years.

I worry about my Liver BUT my Doctor thinks I am safe because I take less than the max 4000 mg a day...... My options are to take it OR have nothing for break through pain.

well after one and a half full days of the patch I can really say it sucks bad. I am in so much pain from back it is like im taking nothing.it was so bad today that i visited mt healthworks doctor and asked if i could take anything with it.she was insistantant that I should not.She wants me off percoset period she was even upset that I still took it on saturday.When I look at all the mixtures people take, especially freebird I dont know why she is so against it. Anyways after several times of trying to explain to her that the patch really isnt doing to much she basically gave up, she is sending me to another pain medicine doctor on thursday.She said nshe is basically done with me and that I can be some one else problem now.So in the meantime she agreeded to give me ten percoset 5/125 until thursday.Hopefully this patch will do more than it has been doing.

I am on oxycodon/ancitophidimen (both are spelled wrong) 10/650 . they last maybe an hour and that 's it. I am tired of the sweats from them. I called my family doctor and he says he won't do anymore for me, that I need to go back to my ortho doc ( in pittsburgh which is a 4 hr drive one way) to get anything stronger. What is going on with not being able to control your pain in a decent manner. It is quite obvious that once you start taking narcodics, you are going to become addicted to them. Well, I am bound and determined to find a pain med that does what it is suppose to do. And what kind of a doctor would just give up on a patient? I am sure if any doctor was in the kind of pain most of us are in, they would freely write themselves a prescription. We all have different levels of pain tolerance, but the bottom line is that pain wears you down. Ok I am done venting. I am just so irritated I have to drive 4 hrs, which i might add is very hard on me, just to address the pain issues. And to top everything off...here in Northern PA, it is snowing boatloads of snow. Arghhhhhhhh

Thats the whole problem with narc's, you start out small then you are taking the highest dose to do what the initial small dose did.. Some times just a change in narcs, to somthing different will help, but adventually same senerio.. I my self understand what they are saying, but when we get to a point and the meds aint helping anymore you might as well sit in a ant hill to forget the pain...
