Indiana-Index Finger-Settlement

Indiana-Index Finger-Settlement
On June 25th 2010 I was injured at work. My index finger was cut very deeply and required surgery (tendon laceration about 2" in length). I went to physical therapy and did all the stuff required.

The doctor did the PPI ratting. He said I had a 22% loss in the finger or a 4% loss in the hand (equals the same). He said I am entitled to a settlement.

I went to the indiana site and found the index finger is worth 8 degrees. So, 22% of 8 is 1.76 and the chart says $1380 from 1-10 degrees this all equals $2428. is this right? I have some bills I would like to pay off and kind of want to get a rough idea what my settlement would be.

Thanks for any help.

Thank you. I found on another forum a guy who did a calculation for the same injury (he had only a 5% loss) and got around $600 that was in 2006 in Illinois. From what I understand Illinois is the lowest payout for Workman's Comp claims. So HOPEFULLY it will be double that.

Thanks again.

each state has their own comp laws. there is no one single method for every one.

RE: Indiana-Index Finger-Settlement
I did call. I asked the person what I would be getting back, said it was 2$2428. It just dosen't seem right. A guy I work with lost all movement in his thumb from the first knuckle and he only got $800.

I am just anxious is all Smile
