(AME) Report
State of California
This is my first post. I need to get a little background information. I have been made P&S with two work injuries. I can no longer go back to customary position. (QME) REPORT I received (AME) report today. The dispute is dvt and p.e. industrial related. My injuries are si joint dysfunction, ligamentous instability of the right ankle. Recently had a lumbar x-ray done and showed narrowing of disc. Trying to get another MRI. Last one done in 2008. (AME) REPORT SAID PROBABLE THROMBOPHILIA OF UNDETERMIND CAUSE I repeatedly had test done say no blood clotting disease. I did have blood clots in 1995 due to birth control pills. |

RE: (AME) Report
I went back and posted the question but, I don't know what happen.
Since (AME) says blood clotting disease and I have had been tested alot of times over the years. Can't find a clotting disease. No lupus. I was taken off work because I couldn't bear weight on right ankle and the swelling was terrible. I felt sick too. Then three weeks later I got saddle p.e. My two Doctors are saying immobility due from industrial injury. My attorney didn't send report. Comp. sent my the letter that is was non industrial related. Attorney office doesn't return calls. My Doctor office said they will appeal. I think or know I'm in a bad spot. Trying to figure out what to do now. I sure could use some advice. |

RE: (AME) Report
If the AME can't connect your condition to your job duties then that is very difficult to overcome.
if your atty is not available to you, consider switching attys; talk to a few first. the key may be the doctors findings and supporting documentation. an opinion pulled out of thin air without evidence can be overturned even if it's an AME. |

All my medical records from 1995 have been destroy. I believe I had arterial blood clots back then because I lost all feelings in both legs and the Doctor's at a bigger hospital did something called clot busting meds on me. Well I had the same Doctor then as I do now. His office is looking for my records from 1995. It turns out my Doctor is somewhat of a packrat. With any luck I will get all the information during that time. I had a lot of testing for everything back then. I don't know how helpful that information will be but, I haven't had a blood clot until last July. I only took blood thinners for two years. A lot longer than I should have but, I was scared. I wanted to get pregnant and knew I had to get off of coudiam. I did have another baby in 1999. Anyways I would like to get another Attorney but, afraid no one would want this mess. I signed with the only Workers Comp Attorney in my small town. After I complain about no call backs I got a welcome packet from Attorney office thanking me for signing up and then as I'm reading it said something to the effect bad attitudes, language and etc. will not be tolerate because with don't need your business to stay in business. So yes I should look for new attorney. I also have a greenfield filter and blood thinners for life. Oh by the way (AME) basically said I'm no longer in pain and no swelling. Funny I'm in so much pain. Future medical I was suppose to get injections. Denied... Attorney told me emergency hearing. That was in Nov. Haven't heard a thing. My Doctor up my pain meds so I deal with it a litlle better. Not really working. I see an other about my lumber in two weeks. I will have to wait and pray I get help this time. Sorry I'm really upset and I wrote alot. |

RE: (AME) Report
Is the dispute on the dvt's.....? You say you had clots from taking birth control, was this cleared from your dr...? Clots usually disolve in time, but when 1 is unactive due to being immobile because of leg isuues dvt's are common. But they should have been monitoring your blood test and had you on comodin,(spelling). I was laid up in hospital for 2 months due to pelvis and hip fractures and in that time I had dvt's in both legs. They immediatly put in a ivc filter to break up the clots before returning to my heart. I was given heparin to thin the blood until they realized I was alergic and had to put me on warfrin until I was able to move around enough... I was monitored every other day with blood tests, and had several (doppler tests) ultra sounds since then and they are all disolved. If the injuries you sustained from work lead to the dvt's and is documented from your drs then you should be able to clear this up... Your attorney is not taking care of your needs and you may want to start a fire under his butt or just simply find one who will.....
Even though I almost died from my clots, I dont recieve any impairment because of them... for they are all disolved, but this far down the road if I would die from a clot it would be very hard to prove it was from my initial injury.... |

I'm lucky to be here too. 1995 BLOOD CLOT due to birth control.2010 Dvt. and p.e. this time immobility from industrial injuries my doctor says. I had filter put in too. This time. I'm applied for industrial retirement and/or medical demotion. Work restriction are long so don't think I can get another position. I liked my job and so sorry I can't go back. Doctor said no way! |

I don't know how many that I am short. We own a business for 13 years and I never paid into social security. I do need to make a call to Social Securtiy and find out how short I'm am. They also gave me something to fill out called a supplement. I will check out what that means. Thank you for the link. |

RE: (AME) Report
while having an atty that is close by is convenient it might be more important to your claim to get one that you can work with.
here is a link to work comp specialists in california and you can search by zip code http://caaa.org/cs/default.aspx |
