RE: CRPS/RSD and The FCE test
Hey Freebird,

Yes, when I had all 4 of my fce's, I was asked if I had taken any medications prior. I answered the same way each time. "That the last time I took the meds. was the night before".

I told the IC and my dr. where I wanted to do the FCE's. They had no problem with it.

8-05, Micro laminectomy/disectomy. 10-05 lumbar fusion L5-S1. 2-07 exploritory surgery. 12-07 medical implant, Spinal Cord Stimulator. now receiving SSDI. Jesus died for our sins. Soilders died for our freedom.

I was given a sheet telling me to take my meds as usual before the test. I was ask the day of the test(both days 2 day FCE) if I had taken my meds. My daughter who use to perform FCE's says if a patient had not taken there meds, the FCE would have been canceled.

Oh well... I just do not understand when a IW will be taken pain medication for life would not be required to take there meds to get a accurate.

I had no issues because my pain meds are not even 50% effective. If I had not taken my blood pressure meds, Heck the test would have never got started. Anyway, I guess our outcomes were different; I guess that is why you had 4 FCE's. I only needed one to show my true score.

RE: CRPS/RSD and The FCE test
The reason for so many was that the IC wanted them and my dr. said sure. What he didn't tell them was that he was using the results as a diagnostic tool.

Please forgive me. I can not recall if you suffer from nerve damage. Anyway, my damage is sensory as well as motion. As you know, it is one thing for an IW to say that can't do something and another to show that the IW can not do it.

I have never heard of a FCE being canceled because the IW didn't take thier meds. I am wondering if that may be a state issue of if it is just that organization. Thank you for the heads up.

RE: CRPS/RSD and The FCE test
It makes me wonder about to take or not take... Because I suppose if the ins knows your cant return to work then I can see why you would take them.... But if the ins knows the employer has a no drug policy, then I can see why they would tell you not to.... My fce's were ordered by the wc ins, and my dr said yes but he also used it as a diag tool, win win situation for my dr and I....

If a IW who is on meds for the rest of his life does not take his meds, How in the world can a current analysis of a FCE be accurate? My FCE was not given to put me back to work for my previous employer. It had been determined years ago that was already a wash. My FCE was given to determine my current state at MMI.

Hey sis, no fighting here.

Freebird, I can see what you are saying. You wanted to know what you could do while taking the meds.. I can understand that.
