Released to work..
Yesterday we went over the results of the latest rfa's, he was not pleased with the results.. I do have 30% relief from the l4-l5 but no change by the s1 and pain that shoots to the left and leg pain still remains the same. I was given 2 choices, either I have the surgery and still might not return to work or do nothing and live with the pain and never work. I see the surgeon to go over the results with him in the middle of jan, then in the begining of feb I see the dr to make a decision.... I had a recent visit with a gi surgeon for the abdominal pain, which he says is trapped nerves or muscle in the scar tissue and says non surgical. I asked for a second oppinion, for atleast a surgeon to go in with a scope and verify it not attatched to my organs..
The ncm asked me am I sure I want to excersize my right to a second oppinion. Now I'm not sure if I should, she does not know considering I have multi injuries and drs for each if this second oppinion covers all or can I get a second oppinion for each injury... What do you's know about the second oppinion with multi injuries.....? The ncm questioned the dr about returning to work, he said no..... She said I have been off since june and have not recieved any restrictions other then cannot return to work.. He put me on sedentary work, 5lb no bending no twisting. My employer says no work available, its no restrictions or no work.... She asked dr if we should start the retraining process, he said its way to early to tell and he will give the decision in feb...... I know this was a bit long, but my main question is....................What do you's know about the second oppinion with multi injuries.....? |

RE: Released to work..
Mine we are considered spine injuries so the same Dr.....looks like you are gonna be a Mr Mom to a very spoiled little girl
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

My wife looked at the dr and ncm and said I make enough money where my husband can stay home and keep his pain levels down..... My wife did it for a reason, and the dr knows why. But the ncm had a look on her face that was priceless....... she did it to show her that we are not hurting for money and will not settle for anything that is just thrown at us........ |

RE: Released to work..
seems to me you should be entitled to a second opinion for each primary doctors opinion e.g. if you have 2 different doctors providing primary care then you get a another opinion for each.
does you no good to get a psyche opinion on orthopedic complaints; but you should get it clarified with the carrier or wisconsin work comp. "never work...." doesn't jibe with current restrictions. if these are made permanent then they would be permanent partial not permanent total. |

RE: Released to work..
Bronoco, my injuries are are lumbar spine, bilateral knees, carpal tunnel, the cervical injury I did not add to the claim.
I see a bone & joint surgeon for the knee replacement, a ortho surgeon for the other knee, and an ortho surgeon for the lumbar spine. I have recieved 2nd opinions for the lumbar spine from a neurosurgeon and paid for this out of my pocket, amazing how different the doctor's report was from the work comp doctor. I see my primary care physican (osteopath) once a month and he gives his opinion on my injuries and has written letters to my attorney with the letters being used as evidence in court. |

You are correct, I did word it wrong.. As in never work. meaning with my current employment. That is why he is waiting on the decision in feb, for ot for different type of work. It was to my understanding from my lawyers helper that I could get second oppinions per injury.. But with the holidays there is no one there to clarify this. I do have his home phone, but truley he would be angry if I called without an urgency reason......lol. |
