RE: Sharing info with Supervisor
Quote:My doctor put me on light duty, but since I know my supervisor would not be happy with that - I do my job the best I can - by the time I get home - it hurtsSad Be very careful here. If I am understanding correctly, you have not told your employer about your work restrictions??? Whatever you do, DO NOT work beyond your given restrictions! That will cause more problems than discussing your injury and recovery by far. Remember your restrictions are also to be followed when at home, running errands etc... I try not to discuss my details with anyone at work, seems everyone has something to gain by someone else's pain and troubles. Good luck

RE: Sharing info with Supervisor
1171 Wrote:it is not illegal for your supervisor to ask questions about your medical condition. With all due respect 1171, HIPAA does apply to Workman Compensation cases. Your employer has the rigght to ask questions and get information regarding to your case as well as the adjuster and attorneys, but HIPAA does apply. Just because the employer has the right to know what's happening does not mean that the patient's medical records are not protected. They are. |
