RE: Husbands 8 week follow up Wednesday
its the little things that make us smile......you tell the Dr that the NCM is upsetting your husband and HE will make sure she stays outside.......
;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....

RE: Husbands 8 week follow up Wednesday
Good to know the healing is good, the next steps are to be baby steps for they will be painfull... I dont recall where the rod is if it is in the pelvis they probably wont remove it due to stability reasons. I have 40 some screws and plates in mine which I can still feel some of them through skin. You grow to get used to it but limits range of motion. And yes the first time I was able to go bathroom by my self was for sure a Halmark Moment.....for my wife as well....lol.. Those are just the happy moments to recovery............
As far as the ncm, it is your choice weather she comes in with you or not.... The way I have it set up is I get 1 hr appointments, the first 1/2 hour is just me and my dr and the second half is for her to come in and ask questions. Never leave her alone with dr....... that way you know whats been said...... I wish you and your hubby well, may he have a fast and painless recovery........bronco |

RE: Husbands 8 week follow up Wednesday
You guys always give great advise. I am learning a lot from all of you.
He got his MRI results on his shoulder today. It showed distal clavicular fracture, fractures of humeral head and neck and lots of tendon and ligament damage and edema. Regular xrays have been useless at finding his breaks...other than obvious leg break and couple ribs. Pelvis, ankle, most ribs and now these 3 were found by CT or MRI. Its been a couple months and I'm sure even had they known, nothing could of been done for them given the fact his arms are his legs for now. It still would of been nice if they had listened to him when he was in the hospital and did the test weeks ago. I'm sure even under the circumstances things could of been done a little differently to accommodate these injuries and save permanent damage being done or further surgeries. Hopefully surgery won't be necessary. Guess I'm a little frustrated after seeing how bad it really is and they didn't really want to test it. |
