Your SSDI and your retirement all go off what you paid into the system, well what your employer paid into the system. So if allot of your income has been cash your SSDI will not include that into figuring what they may pay you.

The reason I say what your employer paid is because when my dad went to retire they figured out one of his past employers didn't pay in for a few years. And he only worked for them for 23 years! It didn't hurt him too bad because it was only like a year or two they didn't pay in but it is sad because they keep the money out of your check
