ssdi question
This thought just came to me while discussing ssdi with my wife. supose I was to file for ssdi, and lets say I have been on ttd payments for three years. How do they come up with your bennifits....? Do they figgure in ttd payments as wages.....? If they dont does this bring down your bennifit rate...?

RE: ssdi question
WC + SSDI = 80% pre-injury wages.!!!!!!!

The SSDI will be offset.

I hope that makes sence. If not, let me know. I do not know how or if there will be benifits for minors.

8-05, Micro laminectomy/disectomy. 10-05 lumbar fusion L5-S1. 2-07 exploritory surgery. 12-07 medical implant, Spinal Cord Stimulator. now receiving SSDI. Jesus died for our sins. Soilders died for our freedom.

RE: ssdi question
yes we collect benifits for our minors....but the medical is thru Bills Champus or retired military benifits....However if youe wife is not working or doesnt have medical she will get medical and WIC thru the state or if you are low income she can get WIC thru the state...that will get you milk, cereal, cheese and juice till your baby gets here then formula aftr she gets here....

;)Workmans comp is not a road you want to travel alone. You need a good lawyer,a great family and good friends to lean on.If you make it thru without losing everything you have worked for all your life, you have come out ahead of the game.....Smile

Just was thinking does the pre-injury wages go by what they figured your income at or what you made say the last year before your injury? Meaning I know they don't take into account most of the time for any overtime you worked. In my case I worked 60 hours a week min the year before I got hurt but WC didn't count that because it was not forced overtime

RE: ssdi question
What I was asking is........does ssdi count wages from ttd...?
If I'm at mmi and wc stops all ttd and I apply for ssdi, I think they go back 10 years to figure out bennifits and would they consider 3 years of ttd as wages....?

RE: ssdi question
If you receive workers’ compensation or other public disability benefits and Social Security disability benefits, the total amount of these benefits cannot exceed 80 percent of your average current earnings before you became disabled.

TTD is not wages and there is no SS witholding.

RE: ssdi question
There saying for SSDI they are only going back a year for any back pay. Sad when right now if they deny you like they do most it takes around 2 and a half to 3 years to get to a hearing

RE: ssdi question
Bronco, when I applied they looked at my complete work history. The amount of SSDI benifits is based on what you have payed into the system. Hence, the three years of ttd don't count.

Manley2, I believe that the SSA uses the same figures that the IC used. Actually, know that I think about it. I know they did in my case.
