HELLO
Hello,
I was just browsing the internet looking for info. on comp. claims and all that fun stuff. Stumbled into this, you guys seem to really know what's going on. I've been off work since Jan.1st. I live in Illinois, i hurt my back at work and have now done all the shots, the PT, and now surgery is on the horizon. Since being out of work alot has gone wrong. I am currently going through a divorce along with the injury. I'm not so upset about the divorce lol, but it's just one more thing to sit around and dwell on. I won't go into details about how it occured.....i'll spare you. The surgery recommended is a 2 level fusion which will leave me unable to return to my old job. (l5-S1) Just thought i would briefly introduce myself..... look forward to browsing and learning more. I will also keep ya up to date with any news (good or bad) -keeping my head up. [/font] |

Welcome aboard and glad you found us. I'm also from IL and most of my back trouble is the same spot. Keeping your head up is the best thing to do but some days we all know how hard that can be.

welcome i found this site not even a month or so ago and have found it to be the best resource so far for real world experience through all this wc madness! the people here have been there done that and dont mind sharing stories and advice! keep your head up cause its the only way youll see the finish line!

You mentioned a 2 level fusion that that will keep you from returning to your line of work. However; you only stated a single level "L5-S1".
Anyway, work life is not over because of a fusion. A back injury can dibilitating. Depending on what is going on with the nerves. Keep in mind, the road you are traveling has already been travel. A great many of us have left our foot prints behind for others to travel over should they need to. Feel free to ask any questions you may have, or visit the of topic topic part of the forum. That is where we talk about almost everything. 8-05, Micro laminectomy/disectomy. 10-05 lumbar fusion L5-S1. 2-07 exploritory surgery. 12-07 medical implant, Spinal Cord Stimulator. now receiving SSDI. Jesus died for our sins. Soilders died for our freedom. |

Thanks for the welcome.....
The 2 levels are l4 and l5....sorry about that. I know i can still work, just not at the job i had. So i was told to expect a buyout.... Right now though i'm just trying to get by everyday without "losing it". Did any of you guys have to do a psychosocial exam? |

Three of them. I walked out on two of them (Due to pain) and returned a few days latter to finish them. Don't worry about it.

Had two for my SCS because they didn't like the first guy, or just wanted to make me wait longer! But I should have left the first one because sitting there doing all the paper work and test was killing me
