All I know of the date was October 1918. There is no link. The info was passed to me by someone with a large collection of these magazines.

Lets not forget this site also;

Great for many things, even those following their Family History and such.

Later in years I wonder something as to what the Corporation of Delaware was into, maybe a money supporter?

The BENDIX CORPORATION, a corporation of Delaware, and
Sellew Corporation, a corporation of Illinois

Don't read too much into the Delaware thing. Hundreds of thousands of companies all over the country use Delaware as their State of Incorporation because they have very business friendly laws for that purpose. I believe Delaware has more corporations registered than any state in the union. Shellophone was based in Chicago, but registered as a corp in Delaware. Very common.

Finally got the grill off. The trim holding the cloth in made it very tight. May need to take that cloth off after all. I will really have to force the grill back in if I don't.

Anyway, finally got a look at the shell that comprises the horn. It is in good shape, so I am pleased. This was the last area of the machine I needed to check.

ADMIN, that was the most important part you needed to check, and know, for I was scared it wasn't in there. But, it is and that is great.

Now you got the confirmation on it, and can show the Shell off like it was made to do in the beginning of when it was built.

Did you or were you able to lift the turntable up yet?

No, not yet, but I think I have to remove the crank handle to free the motor, which is attached underneath.

With a flashlight I was able to see the motor and gearing over the top of the wooden flange that leads from the horn. Everything there appears to be in remarkable shape. I suspect the motor has been rebuilt at some point, as the finish looks excellent and the lubrication on the gears is quite adequate. It does appear the crank handle will unscrew from the shaft if I turn it in reverse (there is threading on the shaft just inside the unit), but I am not going to touch that until someone qualified can give me specific info.

I would agree, instructions first all the time.

I'm sure all in time it will take place. There never can be a rush with the old stuff, never.

Might be a place to stick something in also that kind holds the motor from moving or winding backwards to allow the handle to unscrew, I don't know, but since you know that guy that has that other one, I'm sure he can tell you.
