AME: 3 or 4 hours?
I'm scheduled for an AME appt. in about 6 weeks. The letter states " the examination should take between 3 to 4 hours ". Why so long? Typically what should I expect? What is the next step after the AME? It's been 4 months since my injury, is this normal? I've been in such pain and finally seeing my Attorney's Dr. on July 20th. I've waited for him for 2 months! After the AME does the process usually accelerate, or is this the pace I should become accustom to? Sorry for so many questions all at once! Thanks!

Yep, get accustom to it. it's slow most of the time.

RE: AME: 3 or 4 hours?
I am unfamilure with your state laws, but I have not heard of an adjuster being at any medical exam. Further more, if an adjuster or NCM showed up at any medical exam. I would mearly tell them they can wait outside.
The AME will be the one to conduct your medical evaluations....... 8-05, Micro laminectomy/disectomy. 10-05 lumbar fusion L5-S1. 2-07 exploritory surgery. 12-07 medical implant, Spinal Cord Stimulator. now receiving SSDI. Jesus died for our sins. Soilders died for our freedom. |

RE: AME: 3 or 4 hours?
The AME has to review your records. the amount of records varies significantly.
you may not have to be present for record review. i've never heard of an adjuster adttending--you must be confusing it with something else. it'll take as least as long for the report as it did to get the appointment. litigated cases are very slow. |
