Will I receive anything?
The W/C attorney which whom I spoke with was trying to explain to me about payments, percentages, settlements, lump sums. If my claim gets approved will I get paid from my injury date? I really could not understand what he was telling me. I wanted to ask more questions but he had to hang up. How do I get paid? I also asked him about permanent disability and SSDI, are they the same? I plan on doing some major research on this!

RE: Will I receive anything?
you get paid for all authorized time off.
payment is by check.
social security is federal disability system; workers comp is private insurance.
they are different.

thank you for your reply! You always give good advice! If I am awarded Workers Comp do I get one lump sum check or payments? Should I apply for anything else like SSDI or Vocational Rehab.? Thank You! Pam

RE: Will I receive anything?
from the prior links I posted that's answered in the fact sheet on TD
http://www.dir.ca.gov/dwc/FactSheets/FactSheet_C.pdf

The dept of VR would not try to retrain you unless your disability is likely ot be permanent but you can contact them
http://www.dor.ca.gov/
if you think you'll be off a year or more you can file for SSDI. more info is here
