RE: New to WC from PA
No it doesn't have to be Re-verified Every 2 Weeks. Contact Your Attorney and They will Clear things Up for You, but They do Owe You 2 Extra Weeks, and if Your Attorney doesn't Ask for it, They won't Offer it. I'm almost 6 Years in Here in Pa. and Have had just about everything Thrown at Me so Far. The Attorney wanting Depo.Money Up Front is just Precautionary for Them as They really don't know how Strong Your Claim is at this Point. I've Never had to Pay Upfront, but My Case even though Very Complicated, was Never argued as not being Injured at Work, They took the Credit for the Workplace Injury, so My Attorney was a bit More Confident. Please stay in Touch and let Us know how things are going.

RE: New to WC from PA
So I was right in stating that I am owed an additional 2 weeks. Do you know the schedule as to when they send them out and when you receive ? Like every other friday or wed. ?
Not sure what you mean for depo money as I havent had issue with this. You may be thinking of another post. My case has been pretty but and dry. They only denied it at first due to not having all the necessary medical information to make the decision. Noone has ever argued my injury as not happening at work either. I feel pretty lucky when it comes down to it so far. I am just a worrier by nature and like to have things planned out and when I dont know ahead of time the things I can expect I get a little stressed out. I just want to know when if they say bi-weekly payments shoud I expect my next payment to arrive, expecially since they are 2 weeks behind. ?????? |

RE: New to WC from PA
Your Attorney can get a Date on when Your Checks will be Sent from the Adjuster.and the 2 Weeks They Owe You should have been in the Original Check, that's Why I Mentioned You May have to Ask for it. I May have Confused Your Post with another, I though You had Mentioned that a Deposition needed Done, and There was a $1000.00 Fee, Sorry if I confused the 2 Threads. Have a Good Day.

Technically they aren't 2 weeks behind in paying you, as yesterday would have been the end of the 4th week (first check was for first 2 weeks). If the period ends on a Wednesday, you can usually count on your check arriving no later than the following Monday (however it could be as early as Friday) depending on what time of day they actually get the check to the post office. Make sure that you keep a copy of the check before you deposit it and write on the envelope the date that you receive it. That way if any further discrepancies come up later in your claim, you can show proof of checks and days that it took for you to receive it once it was mailed. Some states also allow for direct deposit into your account of benefit checks. I'm not sure if PA is one of them, but might bear looking into, as you should have it in your account the day after the end of payment period. Thank You Angel the way you explain it makes a lot more sense. I did copy the stub are you saying that I need to copy the actual check ? I will make sure I do that next time as well. I wasn't sure if they were behind 2 weeks or not Thank You for explaining it.

RE: New to WC from PA
UndercovrAngel has said some very good information. As you must know, record keeping is going to be your best friend now till this is over.
I always made a full copy of the check, and the stub it came with. I bought Binders, several of them, and a 3 page hole punch. Can be bought cheap. Then I label those binders, and put the information in them. You can seperate the binders to hold different information, such as Payment as TTD checks and such made to you, then all your medical reports that you should get a copy of each time you make a visit, any IME or what is called medical doctor's the Insurance pays for, then any test you need copies of. Then when ever you need to send a copy out, you have it, make a copy, and send it out. Make life easy on yourself from the start, and it will go much better then trying to get it all at a later date. P.S. Always, I say Always get a copy of any X-rays, MRI's, Cat Scans's and so on, plus make sure you always get a copy of the written report that comes with them... RE: New to WC from PA
BBBB
I have copies of everything from my work pay stubs(since I started) to the excuses the Dr is writing me to CT reports, and all letters from WC and lawyer and on and on. What I have not been getting is anything for when I go for follow up appointments (except the appointment card, I do keep those) as far as notes from the Dr. Should I be getting these? And from every Dr I have seen so far ? I don't think I can get these at every visit nor would I be able to read his writing to understand what he is saying anyway. lol For the MRI and CT scans I have been getting the written report but not he actual images. Do I need the images ? I can always get those from the hospital at need. Oh and everything I send to anyone I mark and keep a copy of the fax or date that I sent it to them. I know being organized is key to them not getting one over on you. |

Weezle, I Apologize, Undercover is Absolutely Correct. For some Reason I Keep Thinking it's June, instead of May. Sorry I Led You in the Wrong Direction. My Checks Usually Come on a Monday, but I Think it will Depend on the day You were Injured, and sent Based on that. Sorry again for the Mix Up, I have to Remember it's May, not June!

RE: New to WC from PA
Weezle, what you do, is ask them at the follow-up visits, for a copy of the medical report and chart notes for each time you visit, as you state you do need them for your records. Now, they might say you can have this weeks reports next week, as it might take time to generate them. That is still okay. You can't be real pushy.
As for your films, yes, you should have the reports, but you should have the films also. Why, some doctor's and surgeons wwill rather read the films for themselves, and you will at times be asked to bring them with you. It will save you time in the long run of things. Here is a hint, as myself and others here, we have Scanners, we scan everything, and then copy them onto a Disc. Then if you need to print one, you have full access to them. I have even scanned Films and copied them to Disc's. Reply's are intended solely for informational purposes. RE: New to WC from PA
Thanks everyone for all your suggestions. I have a feeling I am about to start to get screwed. Apparently I have gone from cat scan results showing - 3 herniated discs at L3-4, L4-5, L5-S1 with thinning of thecal sac at L4-5 and hypertrophic facet changes bilaterally at L5-S1. All without significant canal stenosis or neural foraminal narrowing, not even a month ago to - MRI scan results showing no fracture or subluxation. disc space height and signal is preserved. Marrow signal is unremarkable, there are no findings of disc herniation, bulging annulus, or spinal stenosis, there is no facet joint hypertrophy, lateral recess narrowing, or foraminal narrowing as of yesterday.
But I know there is still something there.....why else would I be in so much pain and not able to bend or run or even walk right for that matter. How can it be there on 4/22 and now completely GONE 5/12 but still in pain. Makes no sense to me. |
