restrictions from dr, but still working
Injured in state of Ca,

I have CTS, and went through surgery on left hand. Didn’t work out that well so I saw a new dr. He’s not a WC dr just a dr that does this type of work. Some how he’s in the office only 2 days a week and very difficult to get my work restrictions on document. He stated I can work 30 mins on and 30 off through out the day until surgery. Employer does not want my word or anyone’s word on this. Just a document. By that I’m held at work with full duty. What can I do?

Well, I would agree with the employer. But you would have too also. Would you just want someone to tell you something with it not being documented when it should be?

RE: restrictions from dr, but still working
maybe they'd take a phone call from the doctors office?
what about chart notes? maybe the nurse could give you a copy that can be shared with your employer?
is this treatment covered by workers comp?
if it's not approved, they may have a good reason not to use it even if they get it in writing.

this is all WC related and cover. This dr as i quote has to "dictate" the report and then verbally recorded, then translated to be documented to a file before any documents be sent out. Employer will not take anything verbally. Dr will file the report and provide document, but not at this time untill his process is completed. Im pretty much am jacked up here at work till who knows when... i cant believe this is happening.... btw he is a plastic, general, and hand surgeron. i dont know if this is the normal practice of these specialist.

the employer should accept a call from their own comp carrier.
maybe the adjuster will verify for you?
if the employer won't provide modified work then you can stay off and collect comp until they do.

Um, the doctor can simply write it on a Script, and say documents soon to come. It isn't at all hard neither.

RE: restrictions from dr, but still working
I have several drs involved in my injury, and each one of them have to dictate... But with that said at the time of appointment I was always given a work slip, from a script pad or a sheet my ncm had with her... Obviously your dr didnt have you at the top of the game.... And or your ncm, if you have one.... is not a very good one because that is thier job for the ins company to get these documents...

What you need to do is go in person to your drs office and demand the work restrictions and or call your ncm and tell them your problem.......
