Question regarding work comp benefits
I've had back problems for years (at least 6). A previous doctor of mine told me that the pain I get is due to muscle injuries, despite failing on numerous NSAID treatments. The pain is sharp and prickly, and I have spots of numbness along my back. I'm unsure of the cause of the symptoms.
Recently, while at work, the pain increased drastically. For most of the night, I was standing with my head down, scanning merchandise. I couldn't stand or sit without having sharp pains. During my lunch break, I resorted to laying on the floor of the office to see if it would help. I was talking with a friend, and she suggested that I apply for Workers' Comp. It has always been my understanding that someone could only qualify if they had received the injury on site, not because the job exaggerated the symptoms. If anyone can help me out with this situation, I would really appreciate it! Thanks in advance. ![]() (By the way, I live and work in Illinois) |

RE: Question regarding work comp benefits
it's really a medical question. see your doctor about your recent symptoms and if they support a work connection then file a claim.
you can't get benefits without medical concurrance. see the handbook http://www.iwcc.il.gov/handbook020106.pdf |
