If you live in San Diego and you need to start a new career due to your injury there is a program at Grossmont College called the Office Professionals Training Program that offers free training in filing, insurance, and accounting. They let you borrow the books and they pay for your parking pass. You can take as many Microsoft programs as possible during the 20 week semester as long as you are meeting all your competency's. The hours you have to be available are from 8am to 4:30pm but if your on workers comp and your going to need a new career this is a good way to get it until your settlement comes through.
My rehabilitation Counselor from the EDD office told me about it so even if you don't live in San Diego you can contact the rehabilitation counselor in your area and see if they have any programs like this. |
