RE: update
I loathe therapy. lol... I like the place im at now, but dread going cuz I know its gonna hurt. I had my progress report done yesterday when I first got there. The weather was bad, rainy and I didnt take my meds before hand like I usually do. When it rains, I hurt like a SOB, the meds help that most of the time. Well, since I didnt have the meds in my system and it was raining and I hurt, my progress report sucked. It was like I took steps backwards. At one point I was able to lift the arm up unassisted to 160 degrees. Yesterday, I couldnt even hit 100 degrees. I did eventually take the meds 1/2 way thru therapy and an hr after taking them, she gave me the tests again. With the meds, I hit 119 degrees. Still backwards, no improvement on any ROM. I had her document the results with and without meds and the weather. I had them document the weather the first day I was there when they did the tests to see where I stood. It just shows I dont do well at all on rainy days or without medication in my system. The dr is gonna love that. My therapist was teasing with me saying maybe its time I headed back to Phoenix. I told her if this is going to be a permanent thing with the weather, I will definetly go back and pray that my dad and step mom move the sametime I do.
I dont blame you for not wanting that person again. I really do not like fillin therapists. Thats all I got at the other place, therefore I wasnt getting the therapy I needed. The last time I went there, I had a fillin who set the stim machine up to high and ended up straining the muscles across the chest. I was really lucky it didnt pull the anchors out. The new place I set the ground rules with them. If they need to schedule me with a fill in therapist, just cancel my appt for that day. Its in my file to be seen by one person only, so my treatment is consistent. If ya get a chance give me a jingle over the weekend, or PM me your number again and I will call ya. Your number went by by when I threw my phone out lol. OOPS |

RE: update
Well, if its a boy, I would like him to be named Maxwell Gregory. That named was picked out for Geena. I was told for 4 1/2 months that I was having a boy. Until they put her on my stomach. Oops, my maxwell was a maxine lol the dr was so shocked when I told her, I could hear her drop the phone. (my ob/gyn wasnt the one who delivered the baby)
You guys can have fun with the girl names

RE: update
:)Morning prncess...I agree totally with what you've said about PT. When I went the 2 months for my neck it was consistant. the same 2 everytime i went. They listened to me and paid attention to what worked and didn't work. Luckily I have 3 appt. next week with on eof them. The day of the eval i was told NO lifting to the side or in front. This PT the next day had me using pullies. I thought I would die. While she was twisting and turning my shoulder my pec muscle blew up. I told her, she said it's normal. I doubt that's true. then she got all nervous and started asking me questions about IF it was swollen after surgery. No it wasn't. Now she has my neck, pecs and trap muscles all out of sorts. I know PT hurts but when you go and aren't man ahndled like that and get something from it I'm Ok with it. I am so afraid the way she was pulling and twisting that she could do damage if I allowed her to continue. That's where I am. Ground rules will be set next week. I don't see aproblem with this PT. he's real easy going, a good PT and pays attention. If something doesn't work or sets off more pain he eliminates it. My God it's only been 3 weeks. Give me time. I do my stuff at home and it's getting easier so I'm sure I will recover BUT at the rate I should. Dr. tells me at least 3 months maybe longer. This girl wanted me to be where I should be after 10 weeks. What is their problem?

RE: update
Oh geezus, pulleys? <shaking head> Im almost 3 months post op and I havent even started the pulleys yet. The first 4-6 weeks of therapy, is supposed to be assisted active range of motion, or if you can do it on your own active range of motion. Small shoulder and arm movements only. I am now into weights. Let me tell you how heavy 1 lb is to lift. I feel like such a wimp, because it even hurts to lift one of those. Im glad you got the normal guy all week. It does help with you have consistency with your therapy.

RE: update
I knew I wasn't nuts, prncess. The PT evaluator said the Dr.s orders were passive, assisted PT. Nothing else. He told me not to put anything in that hand that weighs more than a soda can until I see him on June 12th. UHG! it's so irritating. CAP God is never late. In the end it doesn't matter how many years were in your life but how much life was in your years. |
