Isuues locating a new treating doctor
Me again.Hoping for help or advice. My date of injury is last December.Diagnosed with radiculopathy, lumbar strain, two herniated disks.I initially had a treating doctor that was great but could not keep going to due to they are only allowed to see wc patients 3 times and I had exceeded that. They did refer me to see a neurosurgeon.I saw the PA instead and she stated I was wasting their time due to I havent had any physical therapy,or seen a chiropractor so I needed to go back to my doctor and have those completed before I come back.Well now I have no doctor even after I explained to them what the PA at the neurosurgeons office said.It has been 3 months and after over 40 calls I cannot find a doctor that will take my case.I have contacted my insurance adjustor and WC office for help but they stated it is up to me to find someone.I am frustrated and dont know where else to turn.I am also having issues with the insurance company stating they are not accepting the diagnosis of the two herniated disks, the radiculopathy,or the foramin narrowing due to they stated its normal wear and tear for my age and not due to my fall.i have never had any back problems or pain before this injury and I am only 30 years old.

RE: Isuues locating a new treating doctor
I think the three visit limit is incorrect. you should check with the carrier or appeal any denial of treatment after 3 to the comp court.
treatment denied by workers comp can often be obtained from the health insurer.
information on finding a doctor here

contact the ombudsman for help with your appeals:

RE: Isuues locating a new treating doctor
Ok I will definitely try to appeal. The doctor I was seeing is out of a clinic and was adamant about their contract with workers comp about only treating patients for that number of times. When i explained this to my insurance adjuster they told her the same thing and I have been looking for a new treating doctor since.I appreciate the help and the links you provided.I will definitely contact the ombudsman with all of the issues I am having.Thank you so much!

I know there is a web site that list drs. in texas that accept WC. I used it when I requested a second oppinion. That was a few years ago, but I have to believe it is still there. I will try latter to see if I can come across it again.

RE: Isuues locating a new treating doctor
After one year of suffering and agony to my left foot which is still net healed and neck pain from deterioration in C-7 area, the Attorney's for the employer are ready to settle with me for $8000.00 without any recourse for medical and they want to take away my Social Security and medicare benefits which is all I have to live on? Should I take the first settlement agreement and complete the Stipulation form?
