Got the axe today.
My employer let me go this morning. I had been on light duty since April with the ruptured disc in my back. They handed me the little white sheet of paper and on it was "Lack of Work" as the reason I was being let go. Under that they had wrote "Cutting Work Force".

Sad part is we are going into the part of the year where we do most of all our business. They hired a guy Friday a week ago. They are looking for another person to hire right now. Says a lot for the people I use to work for.

It's a shame when you get hurt doing a job for people and they throw you to the wolves. Not once has anyone said they were sorry I got hurt. Not once have they asked if they could do anything for me. The only thing I got was a job that was not light duty and forced to do it to keep my job. Now I'm without a job... still in a ton of pain... the doctor told me that I would probably have a 25 pound lifting weight limit the rest of my life. The only option is to fuze 2 vertabrae together and hope it works... after they build a cage around it. Right now I am really unsure which way to turn. There is no way I'll get another job in the shape I am in right now.

I go to a lawyer tomorrow at 13:00. I hate to see one but it's the only option I have left.

you can file a discrimination complaint with the comp board.
contact your union rep-most contracts prevent that behavior.
