Impairment rating

May 15th is the date my doctor wants to write my report for impairment rating. He says somewhere between 13% and 18%. Is this good, Bad? Anyone know roughly what those percentages are worth in the settlement so Inhave an idea.

0 means you've fully recovered; 100% means you'll never work again.
it depends on what you mean by "good"....

1171,I beg to differ.... 0% means you are fully recovered you are right there....but many never work again at ratings less than 100% I was rated at 77% and I will never work again...I believe IMO 100% is dead...

100%.---- I would really hate to see that person....Just my hip alone was 25%.....And at times with all the other injuries feels like 100% if 100% is dead..........lol

Well is 13% - 18% good it depends on your injury. If you are really not injuried then that rating is great but if you are in daily pain and can't get around or do things you did before the injury like play with the kids or even just take a nice walk then no it not that good. I don't mean to sound mean but its very hard without know almost everything about your injury and your recovery to tell you if a rating is good or bad. I think having any rating is not a good thing for the injuried party and I hope you get the best out of it in the end. Just remember the dollars never replace what we have lost

I would agree with 1171. In PA for example the only number that matters is 50%. If the IRE comes back below 50%, additional wage loss benefits are capped at 500 weeks. If it comes back at 50% or above, nothing changes. I know in other states there are formulas that use the percentage to determine settlement value. State is very important to answer this question.

could be.....but every % point here means money every state is different.....people need to know just because someone rated them at a certain number doesnt mean you can or cannot work again it just means you lost a % many have went back to school and went on to a different field and done well....some cant ....alot depends on your age and your drive and want to......some of us they wont retrain we are to old they say.....fine I am to old....but these young ones need to try to go back to school to learn a new job and not live on SSDI its not alot for a young person

Infact it is more money, but is not worth what were left with... As far as ssdi its not even enough for older people, and if they are single they dont have a chance..

I can never work again after three back surgeries and a spinal cord stimulator implant. I was only rated at 28%. We are fighting this rating because I am not at MMI.
