Do I need to refile for LTD? New surgery needed! - steelersgurl - 02-14-2010 10:12 PM

My company changed STD/LTD carriers last October. Prior to that date, I was approved for LTD through the previous carrier. I have been on LTD for an arm injury and may need to have surgery on my shoulder. Will I be required to start the process over and file a new claim through the new company or does the old carrier continue my claim until I am able to return to work? State of Florida

Why would you need to reapply when you done this and were approved? You would use the one that was in affect at time of injury though.

Thanks Bad Boy. I just wasn't sure if the old carrier would come back and say that since it is a new injury, I have to go through the new company. This could be viewed as a new injury but on the same extremity. The old company would still handle this?
