It was bound to happen - shugarcookie - 07-26-2007 07:23 PM

I saw my ortho today for a follow up on my MUA. He sees no reason I should still be in pain. My ROM is good he says. For the 900th time THAT'S NOT THE PROBLEM YOU IDIOT!!! He doesn't believe it still hurts. Hmmm, let's see, shoulder injury, notorious for poor healing and he can't figure out why it would still hurt? I so wanted to tell him to remove the textbook from his posterior region and try reading it but I thought that might be a bad thing. Now I have an FCE scheduled for September and no appt with him again until October. Yeah, I'm supposed to do what about pain in the meantime???

Shugar, have you had a second opinion from a Neuro. Dr.? Sometimes the Ortho's don't get the Nerve Pain issue, they look at ROM and incision sites, healing, and if everything looks O.K., in their mind it must be O.K.! Their job is skeletal and Muscular, and a Neuro. understands the Nerve Issues much Better. You may want to try and see the Neuro. before the FCE, it may give you some extra Fire-Power before you go before the i/c controlled FCE Puppet!! Best of Luck, and I hope this helps a little bit!!Wink

I've actually been pleading for another opinion for months but in VA you can't see another Dr unless the IC authorizes it. I hadn't thought about asking the Dr himself to send me for another opinion before hand. Not sure if the IC would ok it but it doesn't hurt to ask huh?

as usual limbo is right on track. My ortho told me he did not know what was wrong with me. The nero-surgen does. I don't know if va is like tx. I had to get a referal from my treating dr. of record to see a nero-surgen.

if u have money 2 do it, you can see what ever dr u want. if they say pain is work related, submit to w/c for reimbursment.

I'm in VA, and my knee doctor (on the list of approved physicians) referred me to neuro, and haven't had any problem/complications from the referral; IC has paid all neuros bills, surgeries, etc.

Well, according to a helpful woman at the state WC commission, I might want to quickly file for a hearing. Turns out I can file for a change of physicians and that I have good reason. That would put any plans for an FCE on hold until a decision was made and hopefully a new dr saw me. I'm spending the weekend writing a nice professional letter and mailing it Monday morning. Maybe someone will finally listen to me!

Very Good Work Shugar!! Now it would be nice if you could have a w/c Certified Attorney by your side when you go to your Hearing! I'm in Pa., and a Hearing here takes about 60 days in my County to get one, that should give you time to find a good Attorney! I know a lot of folks don't want Attorney's, but I've been to nine Hearings, I'm very well versed on my Case, have all the Documentation in the World, but I won't go to a Hearing without Counsel! You can bet you are going to be setting across the Table from the i/c Attorney, and one wrong phrase or wording can injure your case. Please consider Counsel for this Hearing, you are on the right track, and you don't need Complications now!! Best of Luck!!Wink

shugarcookie......I agree totally with Limbo. Not only was the attorney for the IC a shark in my case but also a liar. He has changed wording in several areas and gotten away with it. Since I won I won't fight this BUT if the original transcripts ahve to be pulled out my attorney has them. I know my attorney is aware of their lies and have no idea what I myself would do about it without him. Protect yourself.

I would LOVE to have an attorney guys. I'm still looking for one who'll take my small potatoes case tho. Right now it's just me and the state WC IW advocate.
