Thank you everyone for all your responses. The exam is tomorrow, and since I really do not have use of my right (dominant) arm, I have obtained a note from my primary care physician to that effect, which also mentions the meds I am on. I found out from my lawyer today that WC is trying to prove that I am literally too stressed to have the surgery I need, when it is the lack of surgery that is causing me stress. Meanwhile my husband has to drive me to the appointment with our seven year old daughter, which will run between 4-6 hours. I cannot believe what we go through just to make ends meet on a daily basis.

I just read this thread at the end of this month i have to go and have a physological evaluation done. I applied for SSDI and they are send me for the evaluation as i listed depression on my application. Is this the same type of test they will do ??

Cervical Fusion: On your SSDI application, did you list depression, but did not have any medical backup? If so, that is why they are sending you for psyche testing. Do you remember on the questionnaire, you were asked if you ever had an I.Q. test?

The WAIS-R measures your I.Q. and will probably be given to you if you haven't taken it in the past couple of years. The MMPI-2 will tell what your psychological problem is. be very honest in your answers and answer as how you have felt within the past 20 days. The two tests, along with a face-to-face interview with the psychiatrist/psychologist will determine if you do have a psychological injury and disability. Plan on around 6 hrs. For me the testing took 4 hrs and the face-to-face was 2 hrs. (approx).

My test was for WC, but the same testing is used for SSDI.

Please note that I am by no means an expert. My opinions and statements are from personal experience and lots of reading. Thanks.

I listed depression on it because my POR has prescribed Cymlatla in theraputic doses and my family dr has me on wellbutrin also...That was there reason for sending me for the exam.
